Passage Introduction
In this passage, Paul is addressing one of the hot button issues in the early church. It is the question of whether a Christian should eat meat that had been offered to an idol or not. This is an issue that is addressed multiple times in the New Testament. Some people believed one way about the issue and some believed another. This created a lot of conflict in the church. While we no longer wrestle with that particular issue, there are other issues that we wrestle with as Christians. As you read through this passage, consider how Paul's insights might be helpful in other areas where there may be disagreements and conflict between people in the church.
