- God had Hosea use his family as a living illustration, a living message, for the people of Israel. This took a great commitment on Hosea's part. Would you be willing to make the same commitment if God asked? What would you be willing to commit to God and what wouldn't you?
- Why did God ask Hosea to marry Gomer? Is there anyway that the message God is trying to convey through Hosea's marriage to Gomer can related to us today?
- Consider the names of Hosea's children, look them up in a different translation or Google the meaning if necessary. Notice the progression in the names God has Hosea give the children. Do you see a progression in what God is saying? What do you think he his trying to communicate to the people?
