When Brothers Dwell Together in Unity
Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.

Spiritual Practices: Breath Prayer
Overview
In Jesus' last major prayer on earth, his chief desire was for unity among those who follow him. This is not simplistic, surface unity either. He is looking, hoping, and praying for deep unity. He is inviting us into the fellowship that he shares with the Father. We see this being talked about in the early church (1 John 1:1-3), but it was Jesus' desire not only for his first followers but for everyone who comes after them as well (John 17:20). It is this unity, this fellowship, that testifies to the world that Jesus was sent by God (John 17:21, 23). When this unity is frayed or broken, we as followers of Jesus suffer and our witness in the world suffers. Jesus' deep desire was for unity; it should be our deep desire as well. That is what this breath prayer is about.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, make us one.
