Living Out the Text: Some problems are not ours to solve
In Jesus' story, when the farmer tells his workers that an enemy has sown weeds among the good seed, They have an idea and jump at the opportunity to implement it. They want to go through the fields and pull out the weeds by hand. The farmer immediately objects and does not let them execute their plan. He knows that doing so would damage much of the good wheat as well. Instead he tells them to let everything grow together. When the time for the harvest comes, the reapers will sort the good wheat from the weeds. It is their problem to fix, not the laborers.
Sometimes when we encounter something in our lives, we look for a solution and try to fix it without taking it to God first. Unfortunately, like the laborers idea to pull the weeds, our proposed solution may cause more harm than good. Sometimes we have to realize that some problems are not ours to solve. We need to leave those problems to God and let him address them in the time and way that he knows will work best.
Are there any situations in your life that you are taking on but are not yours to solve?
