Overview
David starts out this passage by encouraging everyone to give thanks to the Lord because his steadfast love endures forever. Giving thanks helps change our perspective by changing what we focus on. When we give thanks we think about the positive rather than the negative. When we focus on the God's steadfast, unchangeable, unshakable love for us it helps build our confidence, assurance, and faith. That is what this breath prayer is about.
