Psalm 122: Let Us Go Rejoicing to the House of the Lord by Francesca LaRosa
Spiritual Practices: Breath Prayer
Overview
In this psalm, the writer instructed his people to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the heart of the Jewish people. In a world that seems to be defined by conflict, worry, and anxiety, peace is a commodity that we are missing all too often. Yet, in Isaiah 9:6, Jesus is called the Prince of Peace. Just as the psalmist encouraged his people to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, so we can, and should, pray for God’s peace in our lives. That is what this breath prayer is about.
Prayer
Prince of Peace, grant us your peace.
