It focuses on communing with God in Scripture rather than simply studying Scripture for intellectual understanding. Click here for more information on how to practice Lectio Divina. Suggested Verses
May he grant you your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
(Psalm 20:4-5)
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.

Spiritual Practices: Breath prayer
Overview
In Psalm 20:7, the psalmist declares, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." At the time, Chariots and horses were signs of military power. If we were to cast this into today's context we might say that some trust in their own strength, their own power, their own effort, their own wisdom, be we place our trust in God. Ultimately, all our best efforts and wisdom will fail us. The only thing we can truly trust in is God. This breath prayer is about placing our trust in God instead of ourselves.
Prayer
Almighty God, I trust in you.
